Holy Week Friday “it really is good”

note this is not an exhaustive timeline…

In the time frame of our slumber last night Jesus and the disciples head to Gethsemane where He will seek the face of God through prayer, in that time of prayer, the ones Judas iscaRIOT struck his deal with arrive to arrest Jesus. Jesus is then taken to the home of Caiaphas, the high priest, where the layers of religious leaders had gathered….where Jesus confirms that He is the Son of Man and will be seated at God’s right hand (the place of power).

By this time the disciples have fled, even the one (Peter) who said that he would never flee. The rooster has crowed and Peter is gone. The early morning hours find Judas iscaRIOT remorseful for his chaotic decisions, so much so that he wants nothing to do with the money given to him for leading the leaders to Jesus, that he eventually hangs himself.

Pilate has washed his hands of the decision the riotous crowd desires and that is to crucify Jesus and spare Barabas.

 9:00 am…Jesus crucified

Mark 15:24-25 Then the soldiers nailed him to the cross. They divided His clothes and threw dice to decide who would get each piece. v25 It was nine o’clock (the third hour) in the morning when they crucified Him.

it may have been the third hour but the third day is coming!

Noon 12:00 the 6th hour…..darkness covers the land

 2:00 pm IT IS FINISHED

3 of the best words ever to be spoken, as Jesus’ sacrifice performed the following.

Hbr 9:12        With his own blood–not the blood of goats and calves–he entered the Most Holy Place once for all time and secured our redemption forever.

 3:00 pm

The veil is torn, ushering in a new covenant based on GRACE

and Jesus is placed in a tomb around sundown.

its Friday but Sunday is coming!
