Victory Week Tuesday

Well Jesus and the gang are heading back to the Temple. A journey they would take often between Bethany and Jerusalem. Man to be able to listen in on the conversation of the guys as they walked to and from each day. The night before as they journeyed back for rest to have replayed the events of clearing out the Temple, recalling the fig tree, to have dinner, rest and now back up heading back to scene where just a few hours ago it was bedlam.

Today will find Jesus not only hanging out in the Temple area  (Matthew 23:24-33) It’s a conversation, well i believe a quite heated discussion where Jesus once more is calling the religious leaders of the day out in how they are so concerned with the “appearance” of the outside, that the inside (the heart) is corrupt, unbelieving. That afternoon he would head over to the Mt of Olives (Matthew 24:1-25, Mark 13:1-37, and Luke 21:5-36) today is referred to as the Olivet Discourse. Place yourself at his feet as you read and digest how you receive the words both to the religious leaders of the day and the prophecy he communicates. Imagine how you will accept/reject or be confused in what Jesus is telling you in this moment. You are feeling the vibe of the city change before you, questions rolling in your heart. “why do the leaders want HIM dead?” “will i receive the same fate?” Jesus said we would….

Then some believe this is the day or even tomorrow where Judas may have cut the deal to hand Jesus over to the very leaders who desired HIM gone.

Have a fabulous Tuesday as we travel through Victory Week with Jesus!
