Victory Week Wednesday

Wednesday brings about a day where we don’t see much activity expressed in the Bible, yet let’s take a moment to consider. By now Jesus is back in Bethany with the gang. A place that we have seen is his place of refuge, his safe place to seek comfort with others who know how to care for his heart in this journey. Especially in this week. Recall this is passover week. The week is centered on the remembrance of how God delivered his people from slavery. The passover meal is set up to commemorate, remember, to teach generations the purpose of the this meal and now with Wednesday upon us is just a few hours away (Thursday). I believe the preparation for this meal would take days actually part of the preparation would be throughout the year.  Consider the thought that we place in preparing meals that center around Thanksgiving and Christmas. Days, maybe weeks ahead the thoughts centered around the favorites of the family. Man don’t we consider When to start preparing, how much to prepare, who can help with the meal? What is the center piece for the table this year. Would this be the year you get to sit at the “adult” table? haha…tradition is handed down..the why behind the meal is communicated.

This meal for God’s chosen people is one where the family would prepare throughout the year in caring for the lamb. A lamb that is to be presented spotless, without blemish. The sacrificial lamb that lived and was cared for by the family then brought to the Temple to represent your family for the forgiveness of sins. So with a meal of this magnitude i’m sure that there were some behind the scene scurrying. Jesus who has been participating in this meal with his family,  Most likely the past two years with his disciples and now knowing HIS time has come this year would be HIS last.

Heb 9:12-14 NLT 12 With his own blood–not the blood of goats and calves–he entered the Most Holy Place once for all time and secured our redemption forever. 13 Under the old system, the blood of goats and bulls and the ashes of a young cow could cleanse people’s bodies from ceremonial impurity. 14 Just think how much more the blood of Christ will purify our consciences from sinful deeds so that we can worship the living God. For by the power of the eternal Spirit, Christ offered himself to God as a perfect sacrifice for our sins.

beLIeVE from the place of Victory gang we have received from the forever lamb of God…

1Pe 1:18-19 NLT 18 For you know that God paid a ransom to save you from the empty life you inherited from your ancestors. And the ransom he paid was not mere gold or silver. 19 It was the precious blood of Christ, the sinless, spotless Lamb of God. (Jesus)
