fresh start

School and Universities across the land are cranking back up. This typically marks the end of summer for those climbing back into to academia. It also marks a time when we feel that this can be a fresh start for us. It’s like a new beginning within the year. We have the self-talk of “man this year is going to be different” or “I’m not going to cave into the pressure and temptations” ….” I will be who Jesus says I am” …. We love fresh starts don’t we?

So did this guy named David, who in Psalm 51 let’s everyone know:

psalm 51:10 MSG God, make a fresh start in me, shape a Genesis week from the chaos of my life

Wow, I can so relate, can’t you? There is constant life that swirls around doesn’t it? There are areas, situations, in our lives that just seem overwhelming in how we are tempted, yet at times we do great from withstanding the attack, then others we just fold up like a folding chair. Leaves us wondering in why is this happening? What’s going on? I mean I’m a lover of Christ and all this “stuff” is happening. hahahah yeppers. hence the reason Jesus said (Bivo paraphrase) I’ve gotta send ya help! And the help comes in the form of yes and being indwelled with the Holy Spirit power that blasts outta tombs gang. But hang on for just a second, let’s take a peek at a couple statements from some ol’ boys we have grown to trust.

Paul knew and saw a thing or two in regards to beLIeVING and how to escape temptations.

1Co 10:13 NLT 13 The temptations in your life are no different from what others experience. And God is faithful. He will not allow the temptation to be more than you can stand (able, or what you can bear). When (not if, or maybe) but when you are tempted, he will show you a way out (escape)so that you can endure.

Are you seeing this gang?! He will show us a way out. He will show us the escape route when “things come into our life that are testing our integrity, when someone is testing our fidelity or when that little something something that seems to be the way to provide pleasure and relief yet always comes up empty on the other side. He provides a way out of those situations? HOW please oh PLEASE share…ok strap in…

2Pe 1:3-4 NLT 3 By his divine power, God has given us everything we need for living a godly life. We have received all of this by coming to know him, the one who called us to himself by means of his marvelous glory and excellence. 4 And because of his glory and excellence, he has given us great and precious promises. These are the promises that enable you to share his divine nature and escape the world’s corruption caused by human desires.

UH OH here we go…so when I’m asking “God get me out!” God is saying “Uh, gang I have already given you everything you need…. beLIeVE…. beLIeVE!” But how? I mean come on…

Well, have you ever hit the refresh button on your computer? How come? Sure, you want a fresh start; you desire the screen to be refreshed with a clearer image than what you were viewing. You desire to have the most up to date clear picture of the situation. What if we kept hitting refresh within ourselves? That in all decisions when we just aren’t sure, that we hit refresh, to allow the Holy Spirit to guide us, to help clear the image of the situation. To remember and show that we have been given everything we need through our yes to Christ. That when we hit refresh we are telling the enemy with their temptation to get OUTTA my face! I’m a partaker, a partner, a warrior of the most HIGH and you’re defeated so get lost bucko…

How often will we have to do this bivo? All the time…. until Jesus comes back…this is part of how we show a world who He is within us….

When he enters the start look what happens…we have a fresh stHEart…. yeah, he will continue to refresh our hearts and renew our minds, in order to travel through as David stated “the chaos in my life, renew a loyal spirit within…”

He already has….do you beLIeVE?
