walk to the cross
Good morning gang,
Today marks the start of the journey for Christ toward the cross and emptying out the tomb. This week we will use this format along with posts on twitter and facebook to help us walk together through the days leading up to our SONrise gathering that will celebrate our Risen Savior, Jesus Christ.
(www.refugemboro.com to keep up with times and places)
In each one of our discussions place yourself in the crowd, place yourself as one of the disciples, or place yourself as mary, the mother of Jesus, or Joseph his earthly father. Or as we journey what would it have been like to be have been one of the many that followed at a distance to “let’s wait and see what happens.”
Saturday night (March 31, 2012) was a beautiful entry into today as we celebrated together and watched daddy’s baptize in the name of Jesus Christ their families to exempilfy uniting with Christ into new life. We celebrated as we watched God touch others to come and follow through with their yes and now some may wonder “how do I live a life led by the Spirit?” How did our brothers and sisters? How did our brothers and sisters who felt the same tug on their heart thousands of years ago. The same Jesus, the same faith, the same baptism is tugging on me and you. The same Spirit that descended on Jesus (Luke 3:21-22 NLT) is residing in everyone who has said yes to HIM (Ephesians 1:4 NLT).
Approximately 700 years before Christ was born the prophet Micah had this to share
Micah 7:18 (NLT) Where is another God like you, who pardons the guilt of the remnant, overlooking the sins of his special people? You will not stay angry with your people forever, because you delight in showing unfailing love. v19 Once again you will have compassion on us. You will trample our sins under your feet and throw them into the depths of the ocean! v20 You will show us your faithfulness and unfailing love as you promised to our ancestors Abraham and Jacob long ago.
Jesus fulfilled all of righteousness requirements through death, burial and resurrection trampled ALL of our sins and threw them into the ocean through the death, burial and resurrection. Our belief in Jesus Christ gives us the ability to have compassioin with others, and God demonstrates faithfulness and unfailing love through the resurrection of HIS SON, our Savior Jesus Christ!
join me in the journey, bring some others with ya…..let them hope aboard your caravan as we journey to the cross together this week and then hear the echo of GRACE ring loud through and EMPTY TOMB that echos IT IS FINISHED!
love em up!
