how to accept and give forgiveness

The world will know us by our love! The most loving act we can perform is to forgive. Receiving and giving forgiveness can be extremely difficult when we have the judges robe on. Allow the grace and mercy of the empty tomb to resonate through your soul to offer and receive what we are provided each moment of our being. (Excerpts borrowed from Neil Anderson’s Bondage Breaker)

Colossians 3:13 Make allowance for each other’s faults, and forgive anyone who offends you. Remember, the Lord forgave you, so you must forgive others v14 Above all, clothe yourselves with love, which binds us all together in perfect harmony.

Forgiveness is agreeing to live with the consequences of another person’s sin. We are living with them anyway Right? so we can either travel through with bitterness of through the freedom of forgiveness

Forgiveness is choosing not to hold someone’s sin against him or her any more                                                                                  Reject any thought or action of revenge

Romans 12:19 Dear friends, never take revenge. Leave that to the righteous anger of God. For the Scriptures say, “I will take revenge; I will pay them back,” says the LORD.

now gang before we start to say SEE there you go… before we say Sic em GOd ..do we desire for them to be made whole through the same grace we are drinking in? … what is that saying about our heart…it may be that the person’s heart is still HARDen/ ours too if we are not desiring the best for everyone…pray for ours to soften

PRAYER Ok pray this outloud with me/repeat there is power in hearing yourself say whoevers name. now let’s go ahead and use this time to place anyones name in here doesn’t have to be just daddy’s

1. Lord I choose to forgive (name of person) for (whatever they did or failed to do) because it made feel (share the painful emotion ie abandon, hurt, rejected, threatened, afraid)

  1. Lord I choose not to hold onto my resentment. I thank you for setting me free from the bondage of bitterness. I relinquish my right to seek revenge and ask you to heal my damaged emotions. I now ask you to Bless those who have hurt me. in Jesus’ name i/we pray
